The Forgotten Signature..

Forgot to stitch my initials into this last one!
Here is a blurry close-up as these ones are hard to find!
Very Sneaky...

We Are Growing Older Without You.

The cover of My brilliant mother's book.
It is a Chap Book of poems written in memory of her father.
I drew the cover art for the book.

----------------

You told me, "Don't be a fool."
Then, always, called me Fool.

MARCH

Though I look into the trees
and hear a birdsong
i heard as a girl, yesterday
will not return, even if i leave
the door open. At parting
we had so little about this world,
so much about the next
left to say. The silence
of your face a full glass
poured back into the river.

We Are Made of Dreams and Bones.

The Garden.
by: Peter, Paul and Mary.
Inch by inch, row by row, gonna make this garden grow.
All it takes is a rake and a hoe and a piece of fertile ground.
Inch by inch, row by row, someone bless these seeds I sow.
Someone warm them from below
Til the rain comes tumbling down.

Pulling weeds and picking stones,
we are made of dreams and bones.
I feel the need to grow my own cause the time is close at hand.
Grain for grain, sun and rain, i'll find my way in natures chain.
Tune my body and my brain to the music of the land.

Chorus.

Plant your rows straight and long,
Temper them with prayer and song
Mother earth will keep you strong if you give her love and care.
An old crow watching hungrily from his perch in yonder tree
In my garden i'm as free as that feathered thief up there.

A dark twist to Peter, Paul and Mary's song, 'The Garden'. It's a wonder so many of us do such a good job taking care of ourselves. All we have are our dreams; otherwise all we are left with is Bones.

Don't Drink and Stitch.

A police officer would have arrested me for reckless stitching.

That's more like it.

Bleeding Heart

Bleeding Heart.
Pencil and Watercolor on Paper.
9x22in.

**

I'm going to have to create another category for this one, it started as a pencil drawing and then evolved into watercolor. Not sure she belongs in my Graphite Heart or with all the other watercolors in You're Sew Beautiful. She is defying boundaries..
